The Ikenga Business School is an academic/business program run by the Igbo Province of Nigeria through the Ikenga Store Business platform. The program leverages the business subscribers of the Ikenga Store to create a business school modeled through the Igbo apprentice system.

With multiple businesses in direct subscription and different levels of partnership with the Ikenga Store, the business platform has become a network of businesses, crafts and trades, especially businesses domiciled in AlaIgbo (Igboland), the birthplace of the Igbo apprenticeship system.

With the rich network of different business classes, the business school provides an environment of rich and practical learning while providing other forms of support. The school also adopts the Igbo apprenticeship system model as a practical guide to the study programs.

Individuals who enrolled in the school would be certified with a diploma after completing their programs same applies to individuals who enrolled through the apprenticeship program.

Program Outline

The programs of the Ikenga Business School follow the Igbo traditional business approach and run through a series of well-structured packages suitable for different individuals. The Business school is also willing to assist researchers from different parts of the world who have interests in the practicality of the Igbo business models, entrepreneurial spirit and resilience. Since the modern Igbo man is almost synonymous with innovation, industry, technology and enterprise, the school will assist in other areas of researcher interest within Alaigbo.

The school also provides monitoring, training and technical support to students enrolled in the Igbo apprenticeship system category through the Ikenga Store. The structure of the Ikenga Business School is quite different from other institutions; in Igboland, we are practical learners.

The programs of Ikenga Business School start with identifying the needs of the apprenticeship student, placing students under a master then Ikenga Business school would proceed to monitor and provide further academic training to such students while enrolled in one form of the Igbo apprenticeship system or the other.

Practical Market Experience Studies

The practical market experience studies is a more prolonged academic training and monitoring available to students who enrolled in the Igbo apprenticeship system, this category of training emphasizes a lot on practical market experience where the trainee is assigned under a boss, the trainee will engage in running a business with the boss while the school will provide additional training and monitoring.

Practical Market Classes

This category is for business leaders and researchers who are within Nigeria; with this category, real-time classes will be held, and different enterprises studied in the real market environment. This category doesn’t require being assigned to a master; however, it comes with in-depth market research and investigation of the real-time business in AlaIgbo.

Online classes

Ikenga Business School also conducts online classes available to those who are not close to our study centers, especially people from other parts of the world; with online training, one can still get along in understanding the Igbo business model and the Igbo apprenticeship system; online classes are available to all categories, including those within Nigeria who prefer remote learning.

Note: both practical market experience and practical classes are only available in Nigeria for now, while online classes can be accessed globally.

The Business School also assists researchers from across the world who wish to study the business acumen and approach of the Igbo people; researchers and other scholars would be given certificates of participation or collaboration.
